This past Halloween was great, I dressed up as a Blasian Beauty! I also doubled as a Crayola Crayon in Shanghai Red during business hours for my office potluck. My department had a Halloween theme and we chose “Crayola Crayons” We were quite the colorful bunch. I had a great time shopping for my dress. I have wanted a long traditional Chinese Dress for years and I knew that I wasn’t going to find an authentic dress at a costume store so, I went thrift shopping and scored!
I’ve wanted to visit Time After Time in Chapel Hill, NC and do some vintage thrift shopping. Time After Time has been voted one of the 25 BEST Vintage Clothing Stores in the USA by GQ Magazine. It wasn’t until recently that I discovered Time After Time has been in the vintage clothing business for over 25 years, selling through their store and warehouse. They also supply other stores, movies, music videos, commercials, plays along with T.V. Etsy and E-Bay websites.
I was able to go into Time After Time straight to the Chinese Apparel and start looking through their selection, I even tried a couple on to make to get the best fit. I found the perfect satin traditional Red Cheongsam for $6.00. It’s a maxi cheongsam brocade with all over Red Plum Blossoms & Golden Dragon. I paired my cheongsam with my Black Italian Leather Patrizia Pancaldi lace up heels. I was very pleased the way I was able to pull everything together.
My make up was simple, I used my Bare Escentuals Foundation in Golden Tan, Soft Jade eye shadow & Silver eye glimmer from Mary Kay for my eyes and my lipstick was wet n wild “Fergie” line in Saraghina. I can’t forget to mention my hair, it’s one of the best twist outs I’ve had since I went natural a couple of months ago. Take a look at a couple of pictures from Halloween Day, how do you think I did? I can’t wait to wear this cheongsam again. Until Next Time… Ciao!
