I love to go shopping for designer shoes and handbags but, I rarely change my pocketbook. I have handbags I use based on the occasion and my fashion choices. I have one bag that I use daily that works with everything I wear and I don’t mind if it gets messed up and worn out, because you know it will eventually. Now, it’s time to let it go and switch bags. I’ve been using my current Coach bag for a little over one year. I’ve been rocking the Coach Signature Stripe Tote in Khaki and Mahogany. I chose it because of the color and I wouldn’t need to worry about it getting dirty too quickly or even the visibility of when it did get a mark or spot on it. I’ve enjoyed my bag and it was able to store all of my stuff that I need on a frequent basis, not necessarily daily but… Frequently! I shop at Macy’s, Nordstrom, Coach Retail Stores and Coach Factory Outlets so depending on where I’ve shopped it may or may not be the latest trending or current season bag. Oh… I love Coach and Micheal Kors! I have a few other designer handbags but, those are the main two that take up space in my closet.
I recently went window shopping with my sister and we ended up at Tanger Outlets in Mebane, NC. We visited the Michael Kors Store as well as the Coach Factory Outlet Store. One thing I can say about my sister is she definitely feeds my handbag fetish, as a matter of fact she got me started! Yes, I blame her! She’s a shoe and handbag shopper. She’s a lot better than she was before, because a portion of EVERY paycheck went towards handbags and shoes at one point in time. I remember her closet use to get full and we’d have purse parties so she could clear it out and restore some order. Ha! My sister gave me my first Coach bag, she also bought me my Coach Diaper Bag as a baby shower gift when I was pregnant with mini me. (It was on my wish list! ) While we were at Tanger Outlets she reminded me that she still owed me a Birthday present and gave me a budget and I started to shop. I decided on a Coach embossed leather wallet in purple and a khaki/Ivy Coach signature swing pack. I don’t know what I was thinking! Everything I have in my tote isn’t going to fit into my swing pack.
I have been wanting to try and downsize what I carry in my handbag. What I currently have in my bag is: iPad 2, makeup bag, comb, checkbook, wallet, hand sanitizer, lotion, eos lip balm, two sets of business cards, Wholesale outlet membership cards (BJ’s, Costco & Sam’s Club), glasses and case. I also carry two pens, two mobile phones (one for business and the other personal), a few misc. items and candy. I can definitely eliminate my checkbook, I don’t even use it much anymore. ALL my bills are literally paid online. I carry a laptop bag on a daily basis (Mon.-Fri) and I can put a few things in there however, I still need to figure out what else I can do without or go back and switch out my swing pack for something else that will fit all my stuff. I love wristlets but, I only use them for nightlife ventures. Who wants to be in a club, lounge, or party with a handbag? I seriously need help! I keep certain things in the armrest of my SUV but, there are certain things you want instant access to. Should I just give up on downsizing what’s in my bag and treat the swing pack like I do my wristlets? What would you do? The Struggle is REAL!
