Mother’s Day is around the corner on Sunday May 10, 2015. I have been putting together a “Relaxation” and “My Favorite Things” Mother’s Day Gift Bag for my MOM! My mom is always on the go and stays up into the wee hours of the morning. That no sleeping thing… I get it honestly! So, in an effort to try and calm her I set out to Walmart to find a fitting American Greetings Mother’s Day Card and some goodies to send her. My mom resides in St. Thomas, USVI. I haven’t seen her in a little over two years and she will be flying up this summer to visit with us for a little while. I am super excited! Even though there is distance between us, I talk to my mom frequently. I’m the queen of calling “Just Because”! I love talking to my mom, I call her when I actually have things to discuss and other times I’m just checking in on her and call for no particular reason at all. I also text her lots of pictures of her grandchildren to keep her in the loop of their daily happenings. In between phone calls, video chats, text messages and Facebook, she doesn’t miss a beat!
I absolutely LOVE the Mother’s Day card that I found for my Mom. It’s inventions from American Greetings. It plays music and extends out 3 panels to activate the audio. The card reads on the Outside: “Mom, it’s your day to relax and put yourself FIRST for a change. Inside: Hope you enjoy every just-for-you minute of it! Happy Mother’s Day! Then… Cues the steel drums playing a Caribbean tune! It’s so perfect! I also got a gift bag to put all her gifts in before I pack it up in a USPS Priority Flat Rate Box to ship it! The bag reads… MOM – Caring, Strength, Gentle, Guidance & Kind! Happy Mother’s Day! My mother is ALL those things and more. I’m happy that I also found the perfect American Greetings Gift Bag! Everything was conveniently together in the celebrations isle. I decided to get my mom some Celestial Seasonings Sleepytime Extra Tea, I think she can benefit from it. I also got her a cute mug that reads… Nothing’s Lost Until Mom Can’t Find It! I Love You! As a part of her favorite things, I threw in a pack of her favorite Girl Scout Cookies. She loves the Lemonades! I also got her a Peaceful Waters scented candle for aroma therapy.
Hopefully my mom will love her card, listen to the steel drums, light her scented candle, brew some calming tea, eat some of her favorite cookies and do a whole lot of NOTHING on her special day! She should prepare for a relaxing Sunday (After Church)! I was pleased with being able to get the Mother’s Day essentials I needed in one place. It was a one stop shop! I wish my mom nothing but the best and it’s no different this Mother’s Day! I hope she has the best Mother’s Day ever! Overall, I want my mom to know that I love her unconditionally. I can talk to her about anything and she is there for me no matter what! I can call to vent and she’ll be a listening ear… Then ask me if I feel better when I am done. Lol! My mom has always had my best interests at heart and even though there are times when I may not have recognized it immediately, I see it very clear now. I love the relationship that I have with my mom and wouldn’t change it for anything. I love you Mom! Happy Mother’s Day! I’ll call you later.
