I recently had an opportunity to attend an exclusive “invitation-only†Guardian Band Sneak Preview Party. It was hosted at the Umstead Hotel & Spa in Cary, NC. Once I arrived it was cocktail hour and hors d’oeuvres were available while attendees mixed and mingled before the presentation. I was able to briefly meet Lisa Geyer, President & Founder of the GB Defender. She was such a delight to speak with and made me blush when speaking about my blog and how much she loves it.
The GB Defender by Guardian Band is a smart safety watch that empowers you to be fearless when going through your day to day life without any hesitation. Here’s What It Does: Stream Live Video, Take & Send Video, Take & Send Photos, SOS Alert, Heart Rate Monitor, Step Counter, Make & Receive Calls, Make & Receive Video Calls, Calculator, Calendar & Designated App. It comes in three color choices simply white, classic black and stealth black. This groundbreaking technology is powered by T-Mobile’s 4G Network.
The GB Defender is NOT Bluetooth dependent and it’s NOT a clip-on alarm gadget. It has its own SIM Card. You don’t have to worry about losing the connection if your phone goes dead at the end of a long evening. The GB Defender will also come with an external battery pack for backup when your charge gets low. It’s a fresh, simple and chic design that’s functional and gets the job done. The straps are interchangeable if you decide to switch things up a bit.
You can choose up to 5 designated people to add in your GB Defender network as emergency contacts. They will be the ones who receive your SOS notifications and can get to you with GPS coordinates and/or even alert emergency authorities if necessary. They have access to your streamed pictures, video and audio in REAL time via the cloud. I love the GB Defender because as women, we can find ourselves in some uncomfortable situations and a crime is less likely to happen if they know they are being recorded.
I was able to see a quick demonstration of photo and video recording myself on the GB Defender and it was clear. It could be used as evidence that would hold up in a court of law. You can clearly see that it was me along with audio of my voice. A wearable like this is a game-changer holding criminals accountable for their actions. My oldest daughter is in college and calls me on a regular basis when she is walking across the campus alone at night. My youngest daughter is in the ARMY living the military life.
I’d get GB Defender for us in a heartbeat to give us all piece of mind!
I’m a frequent traveler and on most occasions, I like to invite my family or friends along with me but there are times when I end up traveling alone and it gives me anxiety. Exploring a new city on my own or jumping in an Uber or Lyft and praying that I get to my destination with no issues can be thought-provoking. I took my first Uber in October 2015 in San Francisco, CA with a group of colleagues. I was comforted by the fact that I was with other people that I knew.
I’ve heard horror stories about ride sharing experiences!
Overall, Lisa Geyer had a vision to come up with a safety wearable that would empower you (women) to enjoy life and put fear on the back burner. While I’m emphasizing women, the GB Defender is for anyone! It’s available for pre-order and will start shipping in December. Be one of the first 200 people to order and receive 10% off using code: first200. Visit the Guardian Band website for additional information and to order your GB Defender.
