It’s been quite some time since I’ve written consistently on my blog. There are a few factors that played a role in why I’ve been so slack with it. It’s been almost three months since my last post. Back in 2019 I was in a routine and then towards the end of the year my grandmother passed away. I haven’t been motivated to write and post since then. There are tons of topics that I can write about and share with my online community, I have a lot to say but couldn’t seem to get the words out and let them flow.
My trip to Jamaica back in December was bitter-sweet because I went for my grandmother’s funeral. However, that was just one day. My “vacation” lasted for an entire week and we did so many wonderful things. I caught up with family I haven’t seen in years, ate at some of the best restaurants and visited so many dope locations that are Instagram picture worthy. I still haven’t written about that trip to share the specifics with everyone. It’s in the works though… I’m trying to get back to “normalâ€!
Well, as soon as I try to find my rhythm and get comfortable… We’re hit with a worldwide pandemic! I mean, can I get a break! Lol! Well, I’ve been working-from-home FT for the last three years, so the stay-at-home order didn’t affect me drastically. My PT job has been affected but, I’ll go back when the world opens back up again. I’m a natural homebody and enjoy being home. I continued to work-from-home from 7am-4pm and then decided to enroll in professional courses to enhance my skills.
I’ve been blogging for almost eleven years and am in the digital influencer space. My current experience is working with a branding agency the last two years in the Marketing (social media) Department. Freelancing and offering my services to clients has been a source of income. It made total sense to enroll in social media marketing, blogging, content marketing and media relations courses to gain accreditation’s. I’m all about leveling up and setting myself up for success. Especially in these uncertain times.
This quarantine has also given me much time to be still and face situations or feelings that I’d buried and thought I’d gotten over but, clearly needed to do additional work to fully heal. It’s funny how childhood traumas can affect you in adulthood if they’re not dealt with correctly. It took me getting triggered by someone I love and a stay-at-home order to fully deal with these issues. Now, I’m reevaluating EVERYTHING! Starting with myself, my relationships, their value in my life and the list goes on.
This is TRANSFORMATION! On a another note I know that small businesses are struggling right now and there are a few ways we can help support them. My online purchases have gone up and I eat out 1-2 times a week ordering take out from local restaurants and food trucks. I love the convenience of curb side pick-up and being able to continue to eat some of my favorite things throughout this pandemic. I’ve also been walking 2-3 times a week around our neighborhood lake and plan to start yoga again soon.
Overall, I feel as though this time has allowed me to be strategic and plan. I’ve also had time to just REST. I’m being intentional about the life I want for myself, who I want to spend it with and focusing on manifesting it. My spirituality is growing and I’m at peace for the most part during all this chaos. Quote: “Being on a spiritual path does not prevent you from facing times of darkness. But it teaches you how to use the darkness as a tool to grow.†I hope you’re all as well as can be, sending you lots of love & light!
