Day 4: Ultimate Blog Challenge – Potty Training MY Toddler #101
I’ve been actively doing this potty training thing for a while now and “mini me” is almost there. He’s at the point where he tells me “I have to pee” and we rush to the bathroom and I’m also in the habit of asking him frequently if he has to potty. He is in regular training underwear all day and he still wears diapers overnight. Slowly but, surely we are making progress!
My newest potty training challenge is trying to understand the need for him to strip to pee. He doesn’t like to keep his training underwear or pants at his ankles. He has to take them completely off! This could become a challenge when we’re not at home. Then he doesn’t want me in the bathroom. He say’s “I’ve got it” and waits for me to exit the bathroom before he’ll pee. Talk about Mr. Independent!
When I first started potty training my son, I taught him to sit on the potty and tuck the family jewels his wee wee or (penis) for anyone who wants to be politically correct. Then daddy decided to take the lead and and took over the potty training process. Now my precious toddler is requesting to stand vs. sitting to pee AND everything from the waist down must come off. I think it’s the funniest thing. At what age do you usually transition boys from sitting to standing? I’m curious. Share your potty training stories, I’m all ears!
