Wacom Intuos Bluetooth Creative Pen Tablet Review

I was excited to have an opportunity to review the Wacom Intuos Bluetooth Creative Pen Tablet. My day to day routine for creating has always involved my laptop and a graphic design software like PhotoShop Creative Suite or Elements to facilitate my design process. I will say that the even though I’m used to working directly on my laptop the tablet is user friendly and you may have a slight learning curve with the creative software. I’ll take you to the beginning and share my unboxing experience with you.

Once I opened the box I saw that it came with the Wacom Intuos Tablet, 4K Pen, USB Cable and Starter Guide. You’ll be prompted to the Wacom website to download your driver, register your product and redeem your FREE creative software. It comes with Corel Painter Essential (Drawing/Painting), Corel AfterShot (Photo Editing) and Clip Studio Paint Pro (Comic, Manga). Make sure your laptop or desktop system requirements are compatible with the software. I have Windows 10!

Downloading the driver was seamless along with registering my tablet and downloading the creative software. I opted for the Corel Painter Essentials and Corel AfterShot. Having a good photo editor is essential and I love that you can batch edit using Corel AfterShot. I had a great time playing with photos in Corel Painter Essential and exploring the different features. Illustrations and Oil Paintings seem to be among my top favorite styles.

There is a variety of paint, pencil and ink styles to choose from.

The Wacom Intuos Bluetooth Creative Pen Tablet can be used via the USB or BlueTooth to your MAC or PC. It allows you to take your digital art to the next level. The 4K Pen gives ease of use and feels natural when your creating artwork on your computer. It’s also pressure sensitive giving you the ability to create thicker or thinner lines when drawing by pushing harder on the pen as well as when editing images with opacity depending on how hard you press. You can also hover over an option before you select.

The tablet is medium sized with a larger active area that can be used with large or dual monitors and can be set up for both left and right-handed use. You can also customize your ExpressKeys to reflect your favorite shortcuts like Undo or Copy/Paste. The Wacom 4K Pen is cordless, pressure sensitive, battery-free with built in nib compartment and nib removal tool. There are 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity for control and precision when drawing, painting and photo editing in any software program.

Overall, I like the Wacom Intuos Bluetooth Creative Pen Tablet. It’s something new and different for me and allows me to expand my creativity. The 4K Pen feels natural when editing a photo in Corel AfterShot or Playing with features in Corel Painter Essentials. I will continuously be getting familiar with these creative programs that I’ve never used. I can’t wait to test it out with PhotoShop and compare the differences.

If you are an avid iPhone, iPod, iPad or Android user, you’ll appreciate this Photoshop Express application By Adobe Systems Incorporated. Maybe down the line it will be available for the BlackBerry and soon to be released BlackBerry Playbook. *wishful thinking, fingers crossed* Photoshop Express is an application that allows you to edit photos and images directly from any compatible device.

Adobe Photoshop Express allows you to crop, rotate or change orientation and add special effects to gain the look you are trying to achieve. You can also share or upload photos to photoshop.com allowing you to sync information in between your device and online account. Once you have edited your image you can go a step further and share it any and everywhere online.

Requirements: Compatible with iPhone, iPod, iPod touch, and iPad. Requires iOS 4.2 or later. This App is currently FREE however it has a built in app purchase camera pack which includes reduce noise, self timer, and auto review for $3.99. The application is currently available in both the Apple Marketplace and Android Marketplace.

Keep in mind that if you are a designer and use the full Photoshop Creative Suite Version for PC or MAC you can’t do everything the full program does with the express version. However, it serves its purpose when needing a quick edit before posting to your blog, Facebook, or any other social networking platform. It’s meant to be a quick and convenient resource at your fingertips.

I had the opportunity to play with this app on my sister’s iPhone4. I just cut a few inches off of my hair. Here’s the “new look” debut. I was able to manipulate the image after taking it today with the camera phone thanks to Photoshop Express. These are just a few photo edits you can do, there are many options available.
