I had the opportunity to visit Ocean Isle Inn for a few days as this month’s featured blogger and I fell in love with the atmosphere all over again. I was at Ocean Isle Inn in February of this year attending the NC Mom Bloggers Conference and though it was winter I had a great time. I got a chance to see what the coast is like during the winter months and wanted to make plans to come back during the summer to experience the coast during its best summer season. One of the things that I love about Ocean Isle Inn is that it is very family friendly and there are many amenities to accommodate a family. I traveled to the beach both times with my family which consists of four children ages 3, 11, 13 and 15. My children were kept busy the entire time and always had something to do. Watching the sunrise and morning walks on the beach was a favorite of my daughter and sister, it was done consistently every morning throughout our stay. The indoor & outdoor pool was very popular among my munchkins AND the spa was a favorite of mine. Spa just screams RELAXATION!
This summer Ocean Isle Inn has started a new pool party series every Wednesday with DJ Wayne Cribb called the Hurricane Pool Party and it’s for the kids! Of course anyone can participate and party but, it’s mainly for children to have fun poolside and dance it up! The first Hurricane Dance Party was a huge success, with line dancing, great music and let’s not forget FUN! East coast body art was in attendance doing temporary tattoos for the kids, the line was always lengthy. There were tons of happy children walking around with temporary tattoos! This is an amazing idea, after a day of fun in the sun and a pool party can’t you imagine how exhausted your young ones might be. It’s a guaranteed nap time or bed time after all that excitement! Okay, so you see where my excitement come is because I actually got some “ME†time at the beach. There wasn’t a day when my children weren’t exhausted and ready for bed after an activity filled day. I got to kick my feet up and write, go out to dinner or just enjoy sitting on my balcony and listen to the wave’s crash against the shore. It was total bliss…
There are also many different activities to do off of the resort. The Museum of Coastal Carolina is within walking distance from Ocean Isle Inn and its very hands on, if your kids are anything like mine and like to touch everything they’ll enjoy it! There’s also a miniature golf course and park that you can enjoy that is in the same vicinity as the museum. We walked to the park really late one night and had a field day on the swings, slides and other play sets. We were the only ones in the park at the time so the kids went on everything and had a ball! I think they enjoyed it because it was really late and we’ve never really been to a park after sun down. There are many nice restaurants that line the strip and some off of the island that are just minutes away. I got excited when I just happened to bump into a Jamaican restaurant in passing. I vowed to go back that night, and I did! I went and enjoyed some Jamaican cuisine from the Sugar Shack and it was delicious! I enjoyed every moment spent at Ocean Isle Inn and Ocean Isle beach I’m already planning my next beach getaway!
