I hosted a Girls Night In as part of a sponsored post for the Collective Bias® Social Fabric® Community. We watched Instant Mom on NickMom and had some much needed mother funny time! All opinions are solely my own. #cbias #shop #MotherFunny
Instant Mom is a new show on NickMom which airs new episodes every Sunday night at 10:00 pm EST while reruns can be viewed daily. Please check your local area listings or this NickMom.com TV Schedule to confirm the time in your specific time zone. Instant Mom is a great mental escape after a long day of hard work of being the caretaker, cook, maid, secretary, taxi, and provider for your family! If you want a dose of comedy with realistic storyline scenarios then Instant Mom is a show you don’t want to miss. I love the cast with Tia Mowry-Hardict playing Stephanie Philips (The Stepmom), Michael Boatman as Charlie Philips (Dad), Sheryl Lee Ralph plays Maggie (Stephanie’s Mom), Sydney Park as Gabrielle “Gabby” Beatrice Philips (Daughter), Tylen Jacob Williams as James Phillips (son #1), and Damarr Calhoun as Aaron Philips (son#2).
The background story is that Stephanie Philips is newly married to Charlie who’s a bit older with three children. She is a new full-time stepmom to three children and is learning the challenges of motherhood first hand while trying to maintain a sense of self. Stephanie is fun, loving, and can sometimes share a bit more than is necessary frequently landing her in weird places as step-mom to three children especially with teenage Gabby who is looking at her as more of a friend than a step-mom . I actually think it goes both ways, Stephanie is trying to appeal to the children but needs to be a step-mom first. The scenarios that come up on Instant Mom are quite funny! You turn around and start to reflect on if you’ve been through these situations or sit back, laugh and thank god that you haven’t yet! I’m mom of a 17, 16, 13, and 5 year old (2 boys & 2 girls) and I don’t put anything past them!
I have to say that I’ve live tweeted during episodes of Instant Mom on NIckMom and my tweets have been favorited and retweeted by @NickMom and @InstantMomTV due to the hysterical punch lines that make it on to my timeline and my live commentary. One of my favorites is that Stephanie is a career-driven food blogger but, can’t seem to boil water! It’s truly funny to me to see her try and pull a family meal together which often results in peanut butter & jelly sandwiches or ordering pizza for dinner! Maggie (Sheryl Lee Ralph) is there giving us doses of comic relief by watching her daughter go through these new motherhood experiences, frequently bringing up Stephanie’s childhood and what they went through. Maggie likes to give Karma all the credit! I’ve enjoyed watching several episodes of Instant Mom on NickMom and cracked up during every episode.
I highly recommend watching Instant Mom, if your anything like me, your television stays on Nick Jr. most of the time and you wait to put your little one to bed so you can enjoy NickMom shows just for YOU! There’s nothing like laughing hysterically after a hectic day to calm you down and center your spirit. I had a blast hosting a Sunday Night Instant Mom Watch Party on NickMom with a couple friends and family to enjoy some #MotherFunny time! I could totally relate to last night’s episode being the mom of two teenage girls. Gabby wanted to start dating boys and she can’t until she’s sixteen, because Charlie isn’t having it! Meanwhile her brothers are always there to catch her when she’s plotting something and also bribe her to keep her secrets… which usually come out! So, remember to check out new episodes of Instant Mom on NickMom Sunday Nights at 10 pm EST and you can also catch the reruns daily!
