For the month of November I will dive into National Novel Writing Month (#NaNoWriMo) with the hopes of completing my e-book in thirty days. I have friends all over the blogosphere doing it as well as National Blog Writing Month (#NaBloPoMo) where you are posting to your blog daily for the month of November. I will continue to schedule my posts regularly 3-4 times a week and focus daily on writing my e-book. It’s great to have the support of fellow bloggers that are doing the same thing as we help to keep each other accountable so we can all achieve our goals at the end of November.
I got my sixteen year old daughter involved in #NaNoWriMo. She loves to write poems, and has a notebook full of poetry. I prompted her to join me in #NaNoWriMo by writing a daily poem and by the end of the month we can put them all together and she’ll publish her first e-book of poetry. She agreed to do it and I am so excited for her and will definitely hold her accountable. My daughter attends an Arts Magnet School and her passions are writing and theatre. I can see her graduating from high school and pursuing her dreams. I always try and inspire her by introducing her to books published by teen authors and let her know she can do it too. There should be nothing stopping her!
If you’ve had an idea for a book that you’ve been sitting on, you should consider joining us for the month of November and carve out some daily writing time for #NaNoWriMo. I’m not even writing a novel, it will be my first e-book and my goal is fifty pages. I think I can achieve that this month and when I lose focus or my confidence plummets, I can look to my blogging buddies for motivation and to hold me accountable. You can visit the NaNoWriMo website for more information. Share any writing tips you have and please share the links to your books when completed. Happy Writing!
