Holiday Stocking Stuffer Ideas

It’s less than ten days away from Christmas and the holiday stockings are hanging nicely on the mantle but still empty, what do you do?!?! Don’t worry I’ve got you covered! I’m the queen on procrastination and I say this with my head hung low. So here are some last minute stocking stuffer ideas for the holidays.

1.) I personally love gift cards! It allows me to do one of my favorite things… GO SHOPPING! I think a gift card to a particular department store or VISA, Master Card or American Express Gift Card makes a great stocking stuffer. I also like people being able to get exactly what they want!

2.) If you live with a bunch of iPhone and iPad App lovers, I think an iTunes gift card would be in order. It also works out so they can stop bugging you to pay for Apps for a little while. At least I know it will with my kiddos! I guess I’m giving selfishly again this Christmas!

3.) The Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 Pro is on everyone’s wish list this holiday season, including mine. I just want to experience a great movie night by projector and listen to those awesome speakers with my family. Have you seen what this tablet can do? If you haven’t, get out from under the rock you’ve been hiding under!

4.) Great Accessories can go a long way! Male or Female… You can add some fashion and style statement pieces to someones wardrobe. Scarves, Handkerchiefs, Necklaces, Bracelets, Sunglasses, Cuff Links or Belts. The list goes on… Let’s make it a fashionable and stylish holiday!

5.) Chocolate! I love candy and I will support anyone’s sweet tooth unless it’s causing adverse health issues. This goes for any type of sweets, I just love chocolate! Chocolate or Gourmet Jelly Belly Jelly Beans make great stocking stuffers! Have you seen all the different limited edition Gourmet Jelly Belly Jelly Beans there are?

6.) Head over to your local Ulta, Sephora or favorite Department Store Makeup Counter and start grabbing the lipstick, eye shadow, and mascara to make someones holiday colorful and beautiful! If anyone wants to put a lipstick in my stocking, I want Heroine by MAC Cosmetics. Okay, thanks!

7.) What’s your favorite fragrance? I would love if I received my favorite perfume in my holiday stocking. There are great sales on gift sets and fragrances during the holiday season. Take advantage of those discounts, one of my favorite perfume is $120.00! Feel free to drop some Chanel No. 5, Dolce or Tom Ford in my stocking!

8.) I love my hat, scarf and glove sets! Everyone else seems to love them too because I always end up seeing it on other people (My kids!) so why not bless them with their own stylish set so they will leave mine alone! I’m just saying… Bonus: I love when I can purchase a custom made knitted scarf set!

9.) Movies & Video Games make a great stocking stuffer! There are so many awesome movies and video games being release during the holiday season, I’m sure you’ll find something for everyone! I recently bought Guardians of the Galaxy and it didn’t even make it in the stocking! I think we’ve watched it almost every night since it was released on DVD. Ha! I’m getting Just Dance 2015 to stuff “MY” stocking!

10.) Does anyone in your life need to upgrade their cell phone or plan! So many options this holiday season for new mobile phones and carriers. Feel free to slip a new phone in my stocking! Later on this week I’ll be sharing the latest Holiday Roll Backs at Walmart Family Mobile! Stay Tuned…

Recap: CWonder Holiday Shopping Event

I had an amazing night out shopping and catching up with some of my Raleigh Blogging Buddies at the CWonder Holiday Shopping Event. This event was perfect timing being that I needed to complete some Holiday shopping because you know I’ll still be shopping on Christmas Eve, It never fails! I absolutely loved CWonder and everything it had to offer. There are a variety of items at different price points to choose from and that’s super convenient. CWonder has bags, totes, jewelry, accessories, clothing, shoes, monogram shop, and so many awesome items for the perfect stocking stuffer. I spend most of the time browsing EVERYTHING, I didn’t want to miss ANYTHING! I started to look at everything I wanted and start shopping for myself but, I had to get back on task! I found a sleeveless fuchsia blouse that I just couldn’t leave the store without buying. I also found three Smore’s Kits and a Gourmet Hot Chocolate Kit that were the perfect gift. A few of my shopping addictions are clothes, bags, shoes and food! I think they all go hand in hand! Ha!

The great thing about shopping on this particular evening is that we were able to receive a 30% shopping discount on our full price purchase and some store items were already marked down. I love a good SALE! We were also serving a good cause because 10% of all the proceeds will benefit SAFEchild in Wake County. SAFEchild is the only child abuse prevention agency in Wake County working directly with families. SAFEchild offers parent education and support services to families to prevent abuse and neglect, and changes the long-term effects of abuse if it has occurred. I’m always down for a good cause, while learning and bringing awareness about SAFEchild to raise funds while we shop is just great! I was able to chat and catch up with some of my blogging friends about plans and collaborations in the New Year. I honestly can’t wait, I’m really excited about what the New Year will bring along with pursuing some goals and reestablishing some lost connections.

Do You Laugh To Keep From Crying?

You know what they say… Sometimes laughter is the best medicine! In life we often have to deal with situations that we would rather not and then we may be hit with a tragedy or crisis and we have to learn to deal with the situation, try to make sense of it and then start the grieving and healing process. It’s certainly not easy to deal with such a situation at all and certainly not around the holiday season. I can speak from experience on this particular situation. My grandparents raised me and I lost both of them right before the holidays within two years of each other. To add just a little more pressure, my grandmother passed on my sons second birthday and every year I do my best to celebrate another year of his life and, silently grieve the loss of my “moms” (which we lovingly referred to her as).

The recent tragedy that took place in Newtown, CT at Sandy Hook Elementary School was horrible and I still can’t comprehend the motive and senseless act of someone to take action out violently in an Elementary School and harm innocent children and teachers. I’ve had to stop watching the news and start policing articles that I read because every time I see or read news coverage I immediately get overwhelmed with emotion and can’t stop the tears. I am thankful that I have three teenagers that are able to express their feelings to me and my preschooler doesn’t have a clue what happened and I don’t plan on making light of the situation with him. I know that when tragedy happens… It may be hard to try and pick up where we left off and we don’t want to seem insensitive but, we have no choice but to keep living and try to move on. My heart goes out to everyone affected by the situation and pray they find peace and light in such a grim situation. I know first hand… I go through it annually!

We are right upon the holidays and need to try and find some holiday spirit. I’ve always thought that laughter was the best remedy to cure a dark situation. I find it soothing to laugh instead of crying sometimes. I actually still have some holiday shopping to do. Christmas is next Tuesday, My daughter’s thirteenth birthday is on Sunday just two days before Christmas and I have yet to square her away. You’d think I have the birthday and holiday shopping done! So, when I got to see how Kevin Heart likes to shop for the holidays, I immediately busted out laughing. Kevin Hart has shared it all during this month with #ihartholidays.
