The Raleigh, NC Hebrew National better Than-A-Picnic Picnic was one of the BEST experiences I’ve had and it was great to be apart of this phenomenal team of women to co host with and pull this event off! We had an AWESOME turnout and I must say that our promotional efforts were more than satisfactory. Myself along with Ilina Ewan Dirt and Noise, Molly Gold Go Mom!, Amanda Peel Manda Blogs About and Cooper Munroe The Motherhood made this event a
HUGE success!
Our service projects were a diaper drive for Help a Mother Out out and sibling kits for our local DUKE, UNC and WAKE MED children s hospitals. Help A Mother out is a non profit organization that helps bring diapers to babies who really need them! Help A Mother Out’s mission is to improve the lives of mothers, children, and families in need one diaper at a time. Sibling kits are a great resource for siblings of hospitalized children. When a child is hospitalized the focus is on the sick child and siblings are rarely thought about. Sibling kits are created to help the sibling cope with not having their brother or sister around also to pass time if they are in the hospital for large amounts of time and to show that they aren’t forgotten about.
Our table was set up with plain canvas draw string bags and arts and crafts to decorate the bags. The bags were to be decorated by children that attended the picnic. We also had different items to stuff the bags like crayons, stickers, rings, books, play doh, and playing cards just to name a few. We had a lots of donations and were taken by how many people were so generous. Several people came to donate and didn’t have a child in tow. Lot’s of people came to support our cause and we TRULY appreciate it. We had tasty Hebrew National Hot Dogs and an assortment of beverages. It was AMAZING! Check out my Whrrl presentation for all the pictures. Oh, I did get on the mechanical bull AND yes, I was thrown off! Special thanks to the amazing Jennifer James Founder of Mom Bloggers Club without her this wouldn’t have been possible.
