Every time I turn on the television I’m seeing a show or commercial and social media is present. You can’t watch a commercial without seeing the famous Facebook, Twitter and YouTube icons at the bottom of the screen. I’m so excited that many companies are recognizing that social media is growing daily and how everyone is using different platforms to connect, engage and market to their audience.
I thoroughly enjoyed last night’s episode of Grey’s Anatomy, if you didn’t tune in then let me give you a quick recap. So we all know that Callie (Sara Ramirez) is now knocked up with Sloan’s baby and she’s playing hard to get with Arizona but, they’re still in love. Sloan has the task of having to tell Lexie ( Chyler Leigh) that he slept with Callie and that’s his baby! Overall, he’s happy about the baby and is going to support Callie through out her pregnancy. I don’t think Lexie is going to go for it though… This wouldn’t be the first time Sloan’s hurt her. Yikes!
Christina Yang (Sandra Oh) is always going to be Christina! Very competitive and manipulative, if that didn’t exist we’d have a totally different character. Alex Karev (Justin Chambers) has been doing a clinical trial with Mc Dreamy (Patrick Dempsey) but, Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) has been holding his hand throughout the whole thing. By the end of the episode Karev quits the trial and tells Derek the truth. He then tells his wife that she’s on the next trial.
Dr. Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson) asks Dr. Charles Webber (James Pickens Jr.) if it’s okay to use Twitter and tweet out her surgeries and before he can even respond she’s tweeting from the OR. Dr. Webber was against it, until he saw people engaging, throwing out ideas and returning questions to be answered. He even was recognized by a former resident that worked under him previously and was blown away. After that encounter Dr. Weber turned into a Twitterholic and couldn’t slow down fast enough for poor Lexie to keep up with his 140 characters per Tweet! I can hear it now, from now on at every surgery… Scalpel, Clamp, Smart Phone! Okay, now we can begin!
Big shout out to Andrea Amir for tweeting out, where am I last night! I almost missed this episode and also T.R. for tweeting out that the patient had consented to Miranda tweeting so there would be no HIPPA issues. Can you tell how seriously we get into our shows?
