I had so much fun reviewing Laser X with my son. It gave us a chance to unplug and get outside for a little while. We are both usually sucked in by technology and giving some smart device or gaming system our undivided attention. It was refreshing to step away and run around outdoors trying to get each other with our Laser X Micro Blasters. The package includes 2 Laser X Micro Blasters with two Arm Receivers. You’ll need six AAA batteries which are not included. Recommended for ages 6+.
It was easy to set up the Laser X Micro Blasters out of the box. We just needed a small Phillips Screwdriver to install the batteries in each Laser Blaster. The Arm Receivers don’t need batteries. Once you’re ready to play, place the arm receiver on your upper arm facing forward. You can choose which team you’ll be on by sliding the switch on the arm receiver to blue, red or neutral (blue/red). There is a 100’ blast range to your arm receiver and it will change from green to red when you’re hit.
You get eight lives and once you’re hit eight times, you’re out! For each time you’re not hit, you automatically get one hit back. When you’re out, turn your arm receiver off and re-select your team to start a new game. You can play inside or outdoors. The bonus to playing inside is that the laser blaster beams can bounce off walls and mirrors to hit your opponent. You can also blast through windows. In all fairness don’t cover your arm receiver, hide it or reset it during play.
The Laser X Micro Blasters are very compact with digital lights and sound, making it easy to tote anywhere. It’s great for two players, however ALL Laser X equipment works together. You can add as many players as you want and have a huge laser gaming experience. The Micro Blaster has a blast indicator to show you how much energy you have. You also have a team indicator that will show your team color and you have a trigger to shoot your infrared laser beam along with your battery compartment.
The Laser Arm Receiver has a hit indicator to track your hits and Team Selector for choosing your team. Overall, we had a great laser gaming experience. I can’t wait to play at night with all the glowing lights. My son really likes playing indoors since the beams can bounce off the walls and mirrors. He also likes that you can shoot up to 100’ ft. away. Laser X Micro Blasters retail for $29.99 for a double set and $14.99 for a single player. Visit the Laser X website for the game, additional information and available retail locations.
