I had the opportunity to play and review Just Dance 4 on my XBOX 360 Kinect and had the BEST time ever with my family. I battled my sister, niece, nephew and four children on the dance floor this week as an after dinner activity. We broke a sweat playing Just Dance 4 and definitely burned some calories. We played in every mode to compare the differences. My ultimate plan is to start a dance battle after Thanksgiving Dinner with friends and family. I can just imagine how much fun it will be with my in-laws and extended family battling. Playing Just Dance 4 keeps you moving with great dance choreography and a variety of over 40 hit tracks! There were different dance moves for each song and not many repeat moves, that kept it fresh! Just Dance 4 is my ultimate workout plan because I’ll dance in a New York minute but, have yet to make it to the gym and I have a fitness center in my town-home community. This is the no judgment zone right? Ha!
There are a few different game modes that you have access to in the dance selection screen. Duet mode, allows up to four players to dance at the same time. Dance Crew mode, allows up to four players to follow individual coaches. Battle mode (One of my favorites), is a new feature in Just Dance 4 and allows two songs to go up against one another. Up to four players can team up and compete against other teams. One player can fight against the automated system, two players can fight each other, and three or four players can compete against other teams. Just Sweat mode, (Another Favorite) allows you to use customized workout dances combined with song dances from Just Dance mode. You can also track calories burned during your sweat session in just sweat mode.
There is a scoring system in place to evaluate your performance by checking how you execute your moves and if you are in sync with the rhythm. There are also Gold moves that earn you bonus points and stars that indicate your overall performance throughout a song. You can see your player position on the progress bar. Always try to get all five stars and be ahead of your opponents to win. Can you tell I’m a competitive dancer? At the end of a song each player is awarded a style based on their performance, I was “twins†a few times which means that I shared the same moves with another player and failed the same moves as well. I just told myself we were just in sync with one another. Overall, I love Just Dance 4 and it’s definitely a great game to entertain while burning off some calories and getting a workout.
Just Dance 4 is available for purchase at Toys R Us online and retail locations.
