I was invited to the T-Mobile RDU Holiday Tweet Up by @CarolinaMama who was hosting this event courtesy of T-Mobile. I arrived at T-Mobile in Raleigh to be greeted and welcomed by CarolinaMama, T-Mobile staff and immediately started participating in the festivities. I checked in on Foursquare to let all my friends know what I was up to, I was also on twitter using the hashtag(s) #TMobileHoliday #RDU while tweeting. There were a few games going on that gave us several chances to win one of five phones that were being given away that night, and there was also a choice between two models The myTouch and The myTouchQ . My favorite game was playing on the myTouch Android phone to see who could carry out certain tasks the fastest that were given by a T-Mobile Staff Member from downloading certain apps, signing into Facebook and posting on your wall, taking a picture, just to name a few. I got to really learn the myTouch and navigate my way around that particular model and I really liked it.
I learned that T-Mobile covers 96% of Americans and is the largest 4G network. You can also set your phone up to talk and access unlimited data with Wi-Fi calling at no additional costs AND… no other national carrier offers this. Nice! This is great for people who live in dead zones or get low signals in their home. I know I’m not the only one who’s lived in the boondocks and have dropped calls. What about having to leave the house and walk around outside to get a better signal and talk on the phone. Lol! Should we really have to do that? It wouldn’t be so bad if I had a house phone but, I haven’t had a land line in YEARS! I’m always on the GO and a mobile phone works better for me. I was so impressed by what T-Mobile offers I’m seriously considering breaking my contract with my current provider and switching over. I currently have a BlackBerry Torch and fell in love with the Samsung Galaxy S II as well as the Samsung Galaxy Tablet 10.1. I’ll have to add those two items to my holiday wish list and see if they mysteriously show up under my Christmas tree.
I was one of the lucky winners of the myTouch which works out for my daughter, she’s wanted an Android forever and that will be one of her Christmas Treats. Thanks to Carolina Mama and T-Mobile! The T-Mobile Holiday event was GREAT. I got to see some of my local blogging friends and play catch up! The games were fun, food was awesome; the staff was very pleasant and informative about the products offered by T-Mobile. We also got tips for surviving the holidays along with some cool T-Mobile swag. I’m going to give a couple of lucky winners some T-Mobile Surviving the holiday’s Swag!
