Last weekend I attended the NC Mom Bloggers Beach Conference. Let me set the scene… I arrived in Ocean Isle around 6:30 p.m. on Thursday evening, just in time to check into the Ocean Isle Inn and freshen up and change for the “Welcome Beach Party†When I walked into to my room I was pleased with everything, the room was nicely decorated. It was a double queen ocean front with a beautiful view, the convenience of a microwave, refrigerator, cable television, hair dryer wet bar and wifi.
Once I got settled in and changed I made my way to the Welcome Beach party. The event was filled with bloggers from near and far. I met Michele (@CheleChestnut) as soon as I entered the room, I was so happy to have FINALLY met her! We’ve been tweeting and Facebook buddies for a while. I also met Malise (@Carolinamama) for the second time and Jennifer (@Onemomsworld) immediately; it was great considering these three women along with Tracy, Social Media Director (@oceanisleinn) coordinated this great event.
The Ocean Isle Inn had awesome amenities starting with a complimentary deluxe continental breakfast each morning, Oceanside pool, indoor pool and Jacuzzi spa! It’s very much a family friendly travel destination. The relaxed conference schedule allowed us to enjoy some of these amenities before and after our sessions. I traveled with my family and my children were literally fish the whole time we were there, they wouldn’t stay out of the water. The Ocean Isle staff was very professional and friendly, my son played an acoustic guitar for Lee, the hotel manager and Tracy, The Social Media Director who happened to LOVE music and both play instruments. Lee even gave my son some pointers and a mini music lesson, and extended and ear if he ever wanted to talk or got frustrated playing! Isn’t that beyond SUPERIOR customer service!
The conference was a HUGE success! I really learned from the ALL the sessions and the speakers that attended the NC Mom Blog Conference. We learned about blogging basics, SEO, Healthy Living & Healthy Blogging, Building Relationships Online, Organizational Tools for Bloggers (I was paying extra close attention to this session), Becoming an Influencer, Growing Your Visibility Online, The Art of The Pitch and How To Approach Small Businesses. I plan on taking everything I learned and implementing it into my blogging routine and when I pitch companies for sponsorship.
I absolutely LOVED meeting each and every blogger and walked away with new people that I can connect with online until the next time we meet up. The atmosphere of the conference was very quaint and laid back. I believe I got to meet almost everyone that attended. I did get to meet Tiffany (@snarkymomma) who is literally my neighbor; we live I the same town and didn’t know each other. Lastly thank you to all the Brand Ambassadors, Ocean Isle Inn and Sponsors who made this event possible and provided awesome swag for us!
