I had an opportunity to visit Fayetteville, NC for the day with a few blogging friends thanks to the Fayetteville, NC Area Convention and Visitors Bureau. We had a fun filled itinerary with local businesses starting with meeting at Dirtbag Ales Brewery & Taproom for a brewery tour with Brewer Hope Demetrius. We got to see how beer is made, the system used and even got the opportunity to taste it. After the brewery tour I got to enjoy Yoga on the lawn with Hayat Yoga Shala.

I had a great experience doing yoga on the lawn, it was challenging at some points and I felt great afterwards. I wasn’t even sore the next day. Learning about the founder Hayat Hakim and her story of discovering yoga during one of her military training deployments was enlightening. During our yoga session she had us pull tarot cards if we wanted to and use essential oil as we were cooling down from our yoga session before it ended. After yoga it was time for BRUNCH and BEER tasting!

I opted to drink sangria vs. a beer flight since I’m not a huge beer drinker. It was delicious! Our brunch was hosted by Napkins Restaurant and Catering. They were very careful with my food allergies. I enjoyed shrimp, sweet potatoes, sausage and greens. I loved that they source their ingredients from the Dirtbag Ales Farmers Market and never know what their menu will be until they purchase. That’s exciting to come up with recipes on the spot based on your available ingredients. Brunch was YUMMY!

Once we finished brunch, we were able to shop and visit all the vendors at the Dirtbag Ales Farmers Market. One of my favorite purchases was my reusable straw and cleaning brush from KyMia eco-friendly reusable products. I also purchased some Nosquito Spray to combat the bugs. Next up, I went to CATHIS Farm and purchased some chicken thighs and was gifted a dozen farm fresh eggs. I enjoyed nice scents from Parker House Candle Co. and was gifted some lavender room spray.

In between shopping I had an opportunity to have an Axe throwing session with Axes & X’s Axe Throwing Range. It was quite the experience and it took me a few tries before I got the hang of it. It was a fun experience. I also had an opportunity to have a virtual shooting session with the virtual shooting range and learned some basic shooting and safety techniques. After my axe throwing and virtual shooting session, I continued to walk around the farmers market and shop.

I enjoyed tasting Mariah’s Relishes and was gifted one of Mariah’s Sweet & Spicy Gourmet Relish. It’s good with tortilla chips. Thanks to Spartan Tusk and Feather Livestock for the goodie bag full of ribs, sausage and ground beef. I also got a lavender scented flameless room freshener from Upcycle Candle Company. They had a variety of great scents in wax cubes, candles and flameless room fresheners. After a fun day at the Dirtbag Ales Farmers Market we ventured to Hope Mills Lake.

To end the day, we went to Hope Mills Lake to enjoy the scenery and have Snow Cones at Big T’s Snoballs. It was really HOT so the snow-cones were refreshing while we took in the scenes from the lake and discussed how our day went. I’m thankful to the Fayetteville Area Convention and Visitors Bureau and Town of Hope Mills for a Sunday Funday! I’m excited to plan a future trip to the area and share all it has to offer with my online community.
