Today is my second day in the Ultimate Blog Challenge and the assignment was to search out a video on YouTube that inspired me and talk about it and add any comments that I’d like to. Well, I had this brave idea that I’d attempt to vlog. I’ve been interested in learning how to vlog for a while. I wanted to record my own video and talk about it. I went on YouTube and searched for a video about beginner vlogging and I lucked up and found the perfect one. I took notes like a perfect student and wanted to take what I’d learned and put it in action. I have a web camera, digital camera and video camera. I wanted to try it on each device to see which one had the best quality. Trying to do this with three children around was a challenge! Three minutes of asking for quiet was like punishment and felt more like three hours to them. I guess they are really social! I can’t be mad at that! The baby was sleeping while I attempted to vlog, so that was a plus!
Vlog Attempt Take 1: I did a short video using my web camera but, it looked really pixelated. When I played it back even though my volume was all the way up and my mic was on, the volume was really low on the video. It was a decent take, if I might say so myself! If it hadn’t been for my technical issues that would have made it to the finals for publishing.
Vlog Attempt Take 2: I used my web camera again but, I plugged in a microphone to see if the volume would sound better than the built in mic. The sound was perfect but, the picture was still pixelated. It was full screen and even when I minimized it, I didn’t approve the look of the video. Moving on…
Vlog Attemp Take 3: My teenage daughter was my digital camera woman and recorded me while I spoke. (Note: Must invest in Tripod) I was doing so well and got most of the information out that I wanted to share and in mid sentence the baby wakes up and starts crying, walks over to me pulls up my shirt and starts nursing! Yeah, he’s all about self service! My mouth dropped, I threw my hand up in the air and said forget it! Meanwhile my daughter has this all captured on video. Needless to say I could have probably pulled the video into my movie editor and cut the boobage footage so I could share with you, but I’m so over it at the moment! It’s almost midnight and I’m trying to stay on task with posting EVERYDAY for 31 days!
I hope to try vlogging again within the next 24-48 hrs. I’ll never have that perfect moment unless I do it while I’m at work away from the kids. My vision is that I will be able to vlog from Blogalicious next week when I go to Miami, FL for the blog conference and share the event with all of you. My shirt says it ALL!
