Disclosure: I’m a Motorola Moto Maker. All opinions are mine alone. I won a contest in the Moto Makers Community and the prize I chose was the Moto X Pure Edition. I’m sharing the differences between the Moto X Second Generation and the PE (Pure Edition). #MotoMaker
I’m loving my new Moto X Pure Edition. I immediately got use to the size because it’s just a tad larger than the Moto X Second Gen. The PE HD display is 5.7″ and the Second Gen is 5.2″. I actually prefer the larger phone. The Moto X Second Gen dimensions are 5.54″ x 2.85″ x 0.39″ and the PE is 6.06″ x 3″ x 0.44″. There is a difference in the battery size with the second Gen being 2300 mAh and the PE at 3000 mAh. My Moto X Pure Edition does stay charged all day long for the most part and I usually plug up when it’s down to 15% battery life. I’m LOVING the Turbo Charger. My phone is fully charged in just about fifteen minutes and I get up to ten hours of battery life. I’m not ever plugged up somewhere for a long period of time waiting on my phone to charge. I honestly haven’t even had to use my extended battery charger since switching to the Moto X Pure Edition. The Display on the Moto X Second Gen was OLED 1920 X 1080 pixels and the Moto X PE has a LCD 1440 X 2560 pixels. Both Colors: 16.7 million (24-bit). There is a flashlight on the PE AND… it’s water resistant! I had a previous phone get water damage before (in the rain), so I can really appreciate this feature. I’m lucky I’ve never had a major accident with water but, I might as well have after being caught in the rain and my phone getting a shower! I had to replace the entire phone!
The Moto X Second Gen and PE are both hearing aid compatible with the Moto X second gen being M4, T3 (mostly tele-coil compatible) and the PE being M4, T4 (very tele-coil compatible). Both phones have high speed data (LTE) with the second gen being a (Cat 4) and the PE (Cat 6). Hands down one of my favorite features in addition to the Turbo Charging and Water Resistance is that it has a MEMORY CARD SLOT! The Moto X Second Gen didn’t have one. I did have 32 Gigs of memory and I actually didn’t go through it all. On my Moto X PE I have 16 Gigs of memory and a 64 Gig Micro SD Card. Let me tell you about my camera which is probably my favorite feature of them all. It’s a 21 megapixel camera that captures great images no matter the lighting and shoots 4K video. The resolution is AWESOME! I’m going to tell you that the majority of my Blog Posts, Instagram and Twitter photos are taken with my phone. I rarely pull out my DSLR Camera anymore! I’m all about convenience and NOT being weighed down. This is very important to me especially when I am on the go! If you know me, you know I’m always somewhere doing something! Whether I’m at a Blog Conference, Speaking Engagement, Networking Event, Tweet Up or Brunch with the Girls… I’m taking pictures!!!!!
So, I was able to build my phone in Moto Maker like I did it’s predecessor. I decided to go with a white/silver front frame and genuine bamboo wood grain back. I was going to go in a completely different direction and then I saw the wood options. It was love at first sight! I had soft grip and leather back options with the best colors available but, that bamboo jumped out at me. My accents are metallic silver and I engraved JenOni, Inc. on the back. I recently re-branded my blog and business and this was just a bonus in celebrating. I love that you can personalize your phone. My Moto X Second Gen has my name “Jen Lawrence” engraved on it. I also was able to program my own greeting so when I power up it says… Hello Beautiful! The features that remain the same on both of the devices, I still enjoy like having hands free voice control. You can count on me to ask my phone multiple things daily. My favorite phrase is “Okay Google” Lol! I look up information, start my navigation, use my voice to text and make calls. The front-facing stereo speakers are great and I enjoy listening to music or watching videos on my phone. I also love the notifications on screen when your phone is in a dormant mode. I can check my notifications without actually unlocking my phone. I can also dismiss the ones I don’t need.
Last but not least… I can’t forget Moto Actions which allows you to access your camera by the twist of your wrist without unlocking your phone. You can also access your flashlight by doing the chopping motion downward twice. The Moto X Pure Edition has definitely made things easy for me. I live by my calendar, set reminders and I also have my Moto 360 Blue Toothed to the PE. They sync very well and it’s nice having everything on my wrist. I’m loving the Moto X Pure Edition. Feel free to ask me any questions. Also, take a look at my “Related Posts” for more of my #MotoLove. Check out my Instagram @JenOni_Inc and you’ll see the camera quality! Until Next Time… #MotoXOXO
