This past Saturday, Mom Bloggers Club Members from all over met for a Tweet Up at Sesame Place and had the opportunity to have a buffet style lunch together at Big Bird’s Riverside Pavilion. We were meeting, networking, and chatting with each other and founder of The Mom Bloggers Club Jennifer James. It was great to meet other bloggers and match faces with Twitter ID’s and blog names that you connect with online. I even got to meet Cocoamommy a dear friend from the blogosphere that I’ve been speaking with regularly via twitter, Skype and even on the phone. We hadn’t met personally until Saturday, and it was just like old girlfriends playing catch up! I didn’t get the chance to meet everyone but, hopefully another opportunity will arise where we can all try and connect again. We were visited by Zoe & Grover during lunch and our children got to talk with the characters and take pictures with them! I think we all enjoyed that!
We prepared for this event by following each others Twitter accounts and while we were having fun with our families we were also tweeting out what we were doing and including @SesamePlace Sesame Place’s Twitter ID and the hashtag #TweetUp to stay connected! I traveled with my husband and four children from North Carolina to attend the Tweet Up and it was awesome! I took many pictures and will be sharing them on Whrll and my Facebook Pages .
It was opening day and the park was PACKED! The sun was shining; the temperature was in the nineties and it was great theme park weather! I must say we covered almost all the rides with the kids. We started at Big Bird’s Rambling River, which was a fun relaxing ride in a floating ring (donut) along the river. The Sky Splash was our next ride to conquer and it was humongous! It’s a huge water slide with a floating devise that seats 6-8 people and you get splashed by the rubber ducky and shower on the way down! Everyone got off that ride soaking wet! Now, I did get on a few rides but, me being the “capture every moment†mom that I am, spent a lot of time playing photographer and capturing our memories digitally. My daughters were brave enough to ride Vapor Trail roller coaster with dips, twists, and turns. They got off smiling looking like it was “no sweat of their backsâ€. My children absolutely loved Grover’s World Twirl; they were spinning out of control and got off the ride in a dizzy daze. My husband didn’t think I had gotten on enough rides and practically forced me to get on the Sesame Streak, a water slide that I screamed half of the way down on until I landed safely in the pool. That was definitely one of my highlights of the day!
One thing that I absolutely loved was that there are stations for nursing mothers to breastfeed in privacy, and as a nursing mom I truly appreciated that amenity. I also loved the beautiful landscaping. The landscape art was absolutely gorgeous with creatively sculpted characters with flowers, bushes and shrubs, and to top it off a three layered sculpted 30th Birthday Cake, it was Amazing! We were all exhausted from all the fun. When we left the park wouldn’t you know my hubby was the first one to go to sleep! I couldn’t do anything but laugh; overall it was a perfect day!
