Guess what I’m doing? I’m nominating myself for a makeover contest, courtesy of My Girlfriend’s Closet in Apex, NC. No, I didn’t want to wait for a friend, my husband or my sister to nominate me. I took the lead on this one! I’ll be filling out a nomination form explaining in 100 words or less why I deserve to win this makeover. I also need to include why I currently dress the way I do and why a makeover would benefit me. I need to submit a photograph of myself representing my style. The photo will be used for finalists to be selected and also selecting the grand prize winner. Top 3 Finalists WIN a complete outfit from My Girlfriend’s Closet, hair Cut and Color, and Makeup. Grand Prize winner receives a Fall & Spring Personal Shopping Appointment w/$50 MGC Store Credit at each, plus a cash donation to a charity of their choice. Isn’t this amazing! I’m so excited for this opportunity.
So here goes… I’m the mom of four (2 boys & 2 girls) 2 teens, 1 tween and a toddler. I’m a FT Marketing Coordinator for a newspaper and also run a graphic design business. It’s natural for me to take care of everyone else first and I last. A makeover would benefit me because I have changed my style very little since high school. I cut my hair; I grow it out and occasionally a high light here or there depending on the occasion. I never wear makeup unless I’m going out to a function and I own a few pair of jeans that I can actually fit. I work in a very relaxed atmosphere so jeans and a top are my regular daily attire. I have clothes stored away in a few storage bins that I hope to wear again one day. My thought process was that once my son was born, I’d lose the weight and get back into my pre pregnancy wear but, that day hasn’t come yet and my son is now THREE! None of those old jeans can go past my hips or over my hindquarters! Oh, and one of my favorite pairs of jeans that I still wear to this day are my Old Navy Maternity Jeans. They are just so comfortable! I guess I wouldn’t mind the pampering or shopping either and I can classify that as “ME” time which is rare in my life. In a nut shell that’s why I want to nominate myself for the makeover!
Now I just need to take a picture of myself or find one that represents my style. hmph! That will be tough… Most of the pictures I use and take are all head shots for profile pictures on my networking pages etc. Well, that’s what I’m up to. Hopefully I get enough votes and become a finalist or Grand Prize winner. *fingers crossed*
