I only drink occasionally and until recently it had been two years that I hadn’t had anything to drink. Funny story behind that one, I threw my husband a 30th Birthday Party back in March of 07′ and I did manage to drink responsibly the majority of the night I had Malibu Rum & Pineapple Juice, one of my all time favorites. I had probably consumed three or four drinks by the time I strolled up on my brother who was drinking something and I made the mistake of asking him what he was drinking. He told me to to taste it, so I sipped it and I still had no clue; then he dared me to take it to the head. Everyone starts to chant behind me “Take it to the head” Oh why did I do that? After taking the drink to the head I was determined to find out what I had just consumed. Finally, he told me… I had just taken a double shot of Hennessy to the head! I was okay moving around and dancing, then I made the mistake of stopping. Oh boy! Everything else was a blur! We did leave shortly after that, got home safely and nine months later we had another addition to our wonderful family. I vowed never to take a drinking dare from my brother again! Thank you bro…
I didn’t drink during my pregnancy, and I decided to breastfeed so there’s an additional twelve months of non alcoholic beverages. At eighteen months we’re still going strong breastfeeding but, I won’t nurse him if I’ve consumed more than one alcoholic beverage. I’ll pump and dump! We had a date night at Chili’s the other night and I just had to order the “Jamaican Paradise” Margarita. Yum! I’ve posted the recipe for you try at home, but if you like Margaritas and you eat at Chili’s from time to time; I’d try it just once. You’ll be hooked! I’ve also posted the recipe for my other two faves Pina Colada, and Malibu Rum with Pineapple Juice. That’s if you’re into Tropical Mixed Drinks! Enjoy! 🙂
