I am super excited that I discovered GameStop KIDS at Southpoint Mall in Durham, NC on Black Friday. I couldn’t understand how I missed knowing about it! However, Esther the awesome sales associate that assisted me during my visit assured me that I wasn’t too far behind. The store had only been open a few days, which made me feel a little better. Being a mom that loves to game with my family and owning almost every game console and popular game that becomes available; this was a milestone I should have been on top of. My family frequents GameStop regularly to pre-order games, purchase games and gear up on gaming accessories. I know when I visit GameStop I’m there for a purpose and a purchase will be made. I see that GameStop KIDS will quickly become a frequent spot for me and mini me (my 4 yr old preschooler).
When you walk into GameStop KIDS you turn into a kid yourself. I found myself gravitating towards the Star Wars section because I’m a sucker for the brand… to the point I already own a XBOX 360 Kinect, but want the Limited Edition Star Wars 360 Kinect Bundle for Christmas. Also you can’t resist the 2-foot-tall talking Star Wars Chewbacca. I want that too! I’ve been good SANTA; keep me on that NICE list! My teenage daughter went straight for the phone accessories because she loves to accessorize that phone of hers. I know that mini me would lose his mind in the store and just want EVERYTHING! The great thing about GameStop KIDS is that the games are rated E and the store doesn’t carry any mature rated video games for adult audiences.
GamStop KIDS stores are opening 80 throughout the country this holiday season and it’s exclusively for families with a focus on our KIDS! If the stores are successful during the holiday season, they may be able to stay open permanently. I know I want them to stay! For a full list of GameStop KIDS products and locations check out GameStop KIDS. I couldn’t help but tweet in excitement and GameStop re-tweeted me and made my tweet a favorite of theirs! It was awesome considering it was after midnight on Black Friday. It also started a great “Black Friday” Twitter conversation on my timeline. I love social media! Check out some photos of my visit below. Enjoy!
