If you haven’t experienced using Google Chromecast Audio, no worries I’ve got you covered! It’s super user friendly to set up and allows you to boost your speakers to stream over Wi-Fi. I was able to set it up within minutes by plugging the Chromecast Audio into a power source and speaker and securing the aux chord using my phone. You can also use a tablet or laptop in addition to your phone. I went to the Chromecast set up web page and followed the prompts to get me started. I was done in no time!
The Chromecast Audio allows you to cast your favorite music to your speakers using Wi-Fi vs. Bluetooth. There are some benefits to this because you get a higher sound and quality powered by the cloud. I opted to use my phone instead of my laptop or tablet because I have the ease of playing music, switching volume settings or pausing if necessary right at my fingertips. I can even take a call or text without interrupting the music playing or draining my battery. My phone is with me 99.9% of the time.
There are a variety of apps available in the App Store or Google Play that allow you to listen to millions of songs, podcasts and radio stations. I personally use Google Play Music and Pandora the most to stream my favorite songs but you also have Spotify, YouTube Music, TuneIn, Rdio, iHeartRadio and NPR One. You can always find more apps on your device by visiting your app store or by also visiting Chromecast Apps. There are so many apps available, I’m sure you’ll find a few that you love.
Chromecast Audio now supports streaming music in multiple rooms throughout your home. You need to group the Chromecast Audio devices together so you can listen to the same song on multiple speakers. I think that’s great because I will move around a lot at home mostly changing my work space from the bedroom to the dining room and living room. I usually have music playing in the background if I don’t have a movie playing. There’s just something about having a little background noise.
I like the versatility you have with Google Chromecast Audio. You can hook it up to any of your speakers with supporting auxiliary inputs for the chord. I can hook it up to my surround sound speakers and even my personal audio system that I tote around with me wherever I go. I like the convenience of being able to play music at any moment whether at home or on the go! All I need is Wi-Fi! I’m notorious for playing music in the shower, at the pool or in the fitness center while working out.
