Kool-Aid fruit drinks is a staple in my home, we always have individual packets of Kool-Aid Drink Mix, Kool-Aid Juice Jammers, Kool-Aid Bursts and the Kool-Aid Powder Canister. I will say that my kids love it and our regular refrigerator drink selection consists of water, milk, orange juice, sweet tea, and Kool-Aid. The kids love being able to select different flavors of fruit drinks each time we go to our local Walmart Supercenter and tend to mix and match flavors to give us a new and exciting fruit fusion to experience. One of my favorite fruit drink mixes is Grape & Lemonade! I just love the way it tastes. We usually have tropical punch, cherry, grape, lemonade, watermelon, green apple, and blue raspberry just to name a few. We enjoy trying new flavors as they come out. In addition to mixing and matching fruit juice drink flavors we enjoy the diversity and convenience in the products. I have three teenagers in High School and a rising first grader. My children are all involved in summer activities and have mastered the grab and go! My teenagers LOVE ready made anything that will cut down their time in the preparation process. I vaguely remember being the same way as a teenager!
Kool-Aid has so many options that my children love and they will grab Kool-Aid Jammers or Bursts before they head out to day camp, the pool, gym or any other summer activity. I have no doubt this will be a must have in their lunch boxes when they go back to school. We recently discovered the new 96 oz bottles and we grabbed the Watermelon & Tropical Punch to try it out. I think they liked the fact that it gave them a break from having to make a pitcher of Kool-Aid. This was a bonus! Even though my kiddos are involved in summer activities, they also have their lazy days of summer! If you haven’t seen the new 96 oz bottles of Kool-Aid, check them out at your local Walmart. The new 96 oz bottles of Kool-Aid come in Grape, Watermelon and Tropical Punch Flavors. Jim Dillard pro fisherman, could be coming to your local Walmart to help promote the new 96 oz bottles! There will be product giveaways, t-shirts, games and more fun activities! Friday August 8th 5-7pm: 360 Harbison Blvd. Columbia, SC Walmart Supercenter. Saturday August 9th 3-5pm: 1326 Bush River Rd. My ultimate favorite Kool-Aid Fruit Drink Fusion is Sparkling Kool-Aid Party Punch! I make this drink for any hosted event that I have or potluck that I may be contributing to. It’s so easy to prepare (under 10 minutes), yummy and gets raving reviews! This recipe serves about 25 people.
Ingredients:
– 2 unsweetened packets of Tropical Fruit Punch Kool-Aid drink mix powder
– 1 46 oz. can of pineapple juice
– 2 cups of white sugar
– 2 quarts of water
– 1 liter of ginger ale.
Directions: In a pitcher combine drink mix, sugar and water. Pour the sweetened Kool-Aid into a punch bowl and add pineapple juice and ginger ale. Mix and garnish with pineapple slices or pineapple chunks if you wish. Serve over ice! Feel free to and add more ginger ale or sugar to taste if you would like it more sweetened or carbonated. You can adjust the recipe when making larger quantities.
Fun Fact: I had this GREAT idea to try and make home made fried Cherry Kool-Aid with the teens, I mean come on… I’m in the south and we tend to deep fry everything! So, I went perusing the web looking for the best deep fried Kool-Aid recipe. I’ll be honest with you, I didn’t like the way it came out consistency wise but, it tasted great! I wanted more of a donut round shape and consistency but, got more of a pancake shape and consistency. I also used my frying pan vs. an actual deep fryer. It was like a cherry flavored funnel cake. I sprinkled powdered sugar to garnish and it was fine. I’ll have to try this one again and post the recipe once I have perfected it, because for me you know presentation is EVERYTHING! Here are the pictures just for giggles! So, how do you like your Kool-Aid?
