It’s Friday, now let’s talk fashion! We have a few weeks of nice weather left to continue rocking these summer styles. I love when a garment can be versatile. I’ve worn mini pencil skirts as tube tops, wrap skirts as tops and really like when I can get multiple looks out of one single garment. For today’s #FashionFriday I’ve worn my Caribbean inspired/ Rastafarian print wrap skirt as a cute halter top. It seemed fitting seeing as Jamaica just celebrated 51 years of Independence, The 46th annual Caribana Festival was LIVE last weekend in Toronto Ontario and CaribMask Carnival is coming up on the 24th of August right here in Raleigh, NC. I’m Jamaican and absolutely love my roots and culture. I’ve paired this skirt turned halter top with a pair of black dress shorts and stylishly black open toe heels. I would rock this at any Caribbean Carnival, Festival, Bashment and Beyond!
My lovely makeup by Tiwa Lawrence (Pink Diamonds)is truly amazing. I love the way she makes my eyes pop! Tiwa specializes in bridal makeup, is constantly building her brand and has been featured in Essence Magazine. Tiwa is all about excelling by learning new techniques and continuously playing with color. My makeup always comes out looking great and I love when Tiwa brings her creative makeup visions to light. So here’s what we did… My primer and foundation never change so lets focus on my eyes and lips where the magic happens. For my eyes: Tiwa used Urban Decay Primer Potion, then OCC loose color in Poison (in the inner and outer lid and crease) for the middle of my eyelids she used Magnolia makeup pigment in Plumes and Nigel’s beauty lashes #46. For my lips: Tiwa used MAC Brick lip liner and MAC Peachstock lipstick.
