I am FINALLY in the process of planning a trip to Disney World with the family and I’m already overwhelmed. I decided it will be a great Spring Break family vacation. We are going to drive to Orlando, FL from NC so we don’t have to worry about air fare for six people. Considering we’re originally from NY and take that road trip whenever we’re feeling home sick we can handle the nine hour ride to FL with the kiddos. They’re used to going back and forth to NY. I’ll pack the car with snacks, DVD’s, games and music of course. It really shouldn’t be any different than when we travel home. I also prefer to drive at night. They eat dinner; sleep the entire ride and wake up at our destination. I went ahead and ordered the Disney Parks 2013 Vacation Planning DVD, just watched it as a matter of fact and it was very insightful. Now, I need to book a hotel that will comfortably accommodate my family of six. I did see on the DVD that they had some hotels with kitchenettes or full kitchens so we’re not forced to eat out the entire time. I am definitely leaning towards something like a Marriott Resident’s Inn type of hotel. I am definitely looking for a value resort with my family size. My first choice at the moment is the Disney Art of Animation Resort.
I did win a couple of Park Hopper passes last year during the Disney Party at Type A Parent Conference and I am super excited I get to redeem them in a couple of months. I am going to purchase additional park hopper passes for the rest of the family. I like that it will allow us to visit multiple parks during the day and we are not tied down to one park per day. We like to jump around! I also have to take into consideration that I have a preschooler and three teenagers. They are definitely into different things. I want everyone to enjoy themselves and get a chance to do what they want. So, we’re going to have to compromise and make it work. I’ll have to schedule time in each park and figure out which attractions to visit first. I want to visit Every Last Disney Park; I don’t want to leave anything out. I have planned vacations before but, nothing like this and I’m also planning a trip to Jamaica this summer which is giving me a headache but, one trip at a time! So, I’m asking all the moms who have been to Disney World with the family to please share tips and travel bloggers please weigh in with your knowledge. I’d like this trip to go as smooth as can be and I want it to be enjoyable and memorable for us all. Please Share… If you have a blog post on Disney or Travel please leave a link in the comments and I’ll read it. Thank you.
