I saw the funniest thing while holiday shopping this past weekend at Cameron’s. It was a Social Media Citation Pad from Knock Knock Stuff and you know I couldn’t resist, I had to purchase it! It reads… “Keep it to yourself” Rules that apply to real-life interactions also apply online, and committing the infraction(s) below makes you both uncouth and downright boring. Remember, when you post something to your wall – we can see it. I think this rings true across all social media channels! So how many of these are you are guilty of…
- Banal status updates
- Tagging unflattering photo(s) of others
- Narcissistic profile photo
- Constant profile-photo swapping
- Log-winded lists of interests
- Endless relationship status changes
- Cultural, political, and/or racial insensitivity
- Weather Reports
- “Liking” your own status
- “Liking” stupid things
- Partaking in self-indulgent quizzes
- Excessive vulgarity
- Poking
- Participating in annoying games
- Sending unwanted virtual “gifts”
- Inviting everyone to everything
- Self-congratulatory posting
- Not inviting me to anything
- Friending non-friends
- Lurking
- Inspirational quote abuse
- Acronym abuse
- Over-posting
- Over-commenting
- Over-sharing
What’s missing? I’m definitely guilty of number eight! North Carolina weather is crazy! It was 79 degrees the other day and now we’re in the low 30’s but, by Saturday we’ll be back up to 70. I don’t get it! I may be partially guilty of number sixteen. I invite my friends to everything but, I’m quick to coordinate an event and invite everyone through email, twitter, and Facebook. Funny enough, there’s nothing else on the list that I do but, I know a few friends that can get a social media citation right now! Lol! What would you add to this list?
Knock Knock Stuff creates fun witty stationery for you to use at home or in the office. They have a great selection of gifts, funny books, notepads, fun office supplies and more. Check out the Knock Knock Stuff website and I’m sure you’ll find something that you can’t resist for yourself, a co-worker, or friend. I have a picture of the actual pad below, I think it’s hysterical. Be on your p’s and q’s or you may get a social media citation from me! Ha!
OMG I want to shoot people who post pics of themselves after they workout. The LAST thing I want to see is your sweaty face UP CLOSE! Ugh. Just nasty.

Lol at this list! I hate those game invitations and there really isn’t a way to stop receiving them.
Those Knock Knock post its are funny! I saw some at a bookstore not too long ago. There was one that listed “Things You Do to Make Me Happy.” I thought about getting that one to give to my husband. 😉
