It’s no secret that it’s back-to-school season and what better way to end the summer than escape to Carowinds for a family fun day! It was 90 degree weather so you know Carolina Harbor was the first stop on our itinerary for the day. It was very crowded but, I always manage to find great seating in the shade. I secured three lounge chairs by the wave pool under the awning to keep us cool. I enjoyed the sounds of the waves from the pool and the scheduled beach party with trendy line dance music. Tons of Fun!
We spent a good hour and a half to two hours tops at Carolina Harbor. It closed at 6:00 p.m. and then we ventured over to the theme park to take advantage of all the cool rides. This is our usual routine when we visit Carowinds during the summer. It just seems like common sense to take advantage of the water park when the sun is out and the temperature is at its highest. Then when the waterpark closes and the sun starts to set we head over to the theme park in cooler temperatures.
It’s so much better to wait in lines for rides when it’s not scorching hot! Carowinds is a great place to visit during the summer but, I enjoy it even better during the Fall for the Great Pumpkin Fest and SCarowinds. I’m excited to experience WinterFest this holiday season. Fall is my favorite season! The weather is perfect and you get to enjoy the theme park along with the special events. I’m always comfortable and dress in layers so that I can peel of or put on clothing when necessary.
We had a great time visiting Carowinds for our end of summer escape! After we left Carolina Harbor we spent some time in Planet Snoop, The County Fair and in other areas of the park to get on our favorite rides. One of my youngest son’s favorite rides is the Gold Rusher while his older brother’s is Fury 325! I think my oldest son would get right back on the Fury line as soon as he got off the ride. He rides Fury non-stop as well as the Intimidator. My kids are thrill seekers and enjoy every moment they can on roller coasters!
