American Underground @ Main is an Entrepreneurs playground! I attended the official grand opening on Thursday July 18th and was pleasantly surprised. The 22,000 square foot space holds 40 square foot smoffices (small office spaces) and a 3000 square foot coworking space. The space is filled with 40 local start ups currently and can hold up to 50. The location is great in the heart of downtown Durham and just a short distance away from it’s sister property American Underground at American Tobacco.
Some of the highlights from the grand opening event included meeting Terri, an awesome smart virtual presenter. She’s the only virtual interactive spokes model by PRSONAS. I think she needs to make an apperanace at a blog conference, she’s so cool! Live entertainment included the Al Strong Quartet and DJ Craig was on the 1’s and 2’s from Reverbnation Music. There were a few bars and tons great food from some of our favorite local restaurants.
The Grand Opening event for American Underground @ Main was planned by Virtue Events and Durham showed up to support this amazing addition to our community. I also love how many startups we have, we are thriving! Please check out some of the pictures from the event. Some of my favorite areas include the adult slide from the first floor to basement, tree house meeting space, vault lounge and classic arcade video games. There are so many more, I just named a few.
I think it’s so important to have a great environment to work in. If you are putting in lots of hours to build your dream it’s only right you have the amenities in place to facilitate a much needed break or just being in a fun relaxing atmosphere. I believe American Underground @ Main delivers on this! I would have meetings in the tree house meeting space every chance I get, it just looks so comfortable and cool!
