This past Saturday I was able to meet up with a few local bloggers at Wendy’s to taste the NEW Berry Almond Chicken Salad and boy was it tasty! The presentation of the salad is so perfect you don’t want to touch it, however when you take that first bite it bursts with tangy flavor and you will eat it to the last drop. This salad consists of fresh blueberries, fresh sliced strawberries, California Almonds roasted in sea salt, shaved Asiago Cheese, and WARM grilled chicken breast on a bed of eleven freshly chopped field greens. You have the option of topping this masterpiece with a FAT-FREE Raspberry Vinaigrette which includes the nutrient rich source of acai berry. Don’t you just want to run out and get one?
This salad doesn’t just look good and tasty, it’s very filling! I had the full entrée portion with chicken and ate my salad around 12:30 in the afternoon and didn’t eat again until after 8:00 pm that night. The salad is available at participating Wendy’s locations in entrée portions for $6.49 or $5.29 (without chicken). It’s also available in half sizes for $4.49 or $3.89 (without chicken). Now if you are wondering about the nutritional benefits, I’ve got you covered. The strawberries and blueberries give you a full cup (one serving) of fruit giving you a source of Vitamin C. The blueberries are rich in antioxidants giving you yet another benefit. We can’t leave out the Almonds giving you some Vitamin E or the Asiago Cheese giving you a source of calcium. If your children love salads and fruit this is a great meal choice.
