I’m on a mission to take my business to the top, but at a cost I can afford. Hiring a publicist can cost anywhere from $300 – $5000 per month or more. I’m a brand new business and I don’t have that type of cash. So, I’ve decided to go the do-it-yourself PR route! Amazingly, it’s not as hard as one may think. DIY PR is becoming more and more doable by small business owners. There’s lots of great resources out there, including those specifically designed for Mom Entrepreneurs.
PR Defined: Public Relations is “sharing news or information through the media, in order to reach customers, potential employees, joint venture partners, investors and anyone else who needs to know about you.” (source: PR In Your Pajamas)
Steps I’m Taking:
Become familiar with PR and various media avenues
Attend PR workshops/classes and read DIY PR books
Talk with PR experts
Obtain media lists
